MNTC Students Advance to State SkillsUSA Contest

Nearly 70 students enrolled in Moore Norman Technology Center’s Trade and Industrial Education programs have earned their way to competing at the state level in several SkillsUSA competitive events. The 43rd annual SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills Championship will be April 24 -26 at the Quick Trip Center in Tulsa. Students attending represent some 500 Trade and Industrial Education programs in high schools and technology centers across Oklahoma. Students will compete in 75 occupational and leadership skill areas in hopes of earning a trip to the 2008 SkillsUSA National Championship, which will take place in Kansas City this summer.

High school and adult students from the Moore and Norman areas will compete in several different divisions, ranging from Advertising Design to Welding. Many students who are attending the state contest had to first compete at a district level SkillsUSA contest. The following students from MNTC placed at district competitions:
