FLEXTRACK CLASSES
Moore Norman Technology Center offers classes in an open entry, individualized format, that meets the needs of our busy adult students. Enroll at any time, and begin any class M-Th, 12 months a year.
- Students receive Learning Activity Packets to facilitate self-directed learning.
- Classes incorporate videos, interactive software, web sites, textbooks, and lab experience.
- Instructors are available in class to offer assistance M-Th, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Students must attend a 30-minute orientation, offered M-Th at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
- Skills Lab is available for hands-on practice M-Th, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- The Academic Resource Center and computer lab are also available on campus.
- Students have up to 20 weeks from the day of enrollment to complete each class.
- Students can call instructors in the classroom during class hours or send questions by email.
- Classes are offered at the South Penn Campus.
DESCRIPTIONS FOR FLEXTRACK CLASSES
Prerequisites
Because many of our programs require skills practiced at a clinical facility, there are basic requirements students must meet. These requirements are determined by each facility. Although these requirements may vary, most require the following prior to the clinical rotation:
Immunizations:
- Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella – One of the following:
- Positive rubella, rubeola, and mumps titer
- One (1) MMR AND positive (+) titer for rubeola & mumps
- Two (2) MMR Vaccines
- One (1) MMR AND one (1) rubeola and mumps vaccine
- If borne before 1 Jan 1957 – Proof of immunication to mumps and rubeola are required; immunity to rubella will not be required.
NOTE: If titers are negative, two (2) MMR vaccinations are required for those born after Jan 1, 1957. One (1) MMR is required for the individual born before Jan 1, 1957.
- T.B. Screening Tuberculin (PPD) Test – One of the following:
- Two (2) negative TB skin tests, given within the last 12 month period PRIOR to beginning clinicals. Students must stay current during their entire clinical stay.
- If history of positive PPD, student must submit evidence of positive TB test, a documented negative chest x-ray, dated no more than three (3) months prior to beginning of their program and complete TB symptoms survey along with a “Release for Public Contact Form” obtained from the Health Department.
- If new positive TB test, must have documented positive TB test, documented negative chest x-ray, and a “Release for Public Contact Form” from the Health Department.
- Hepatitis B – One of the following:
- Three (3) hepatitis vaccinations
- Positive hepatitis B surface anti-body
- Hepatitis B waiver signed by student
- Varicella – One of the following:
- Two (2) varicella vaccinations
- Positive varicella titer
- A written verification of varicella history from healthcare provider.
