Oklahoma’s CareerTech System, and specifically, Moore Norman Technology Center, have entry points within Oklahoma’s business and industrial settings at all professional levels, and we reach out to every corner of the state.

We’ve done the research, and results show that graduates of MNTC’s full time courses earn more money from the entry-level positions they take on than those who have no career or technical training at all.

What this means is that, the estimated lifetime financial gain for a Moore Norman graduate is over $350,000. The economic impact of the 2006 graduating class of MNTC will be greater than $100 million, and we’ve put out graduates since 1977.

MNTC full time courses benefit the state’s economy in so many ways, but there are multiplier effects of the direct income gains of our students that cannot be ignored. Total, direct, indirect, and induced earnings gain for the state, taking into account expected numbers of graduates who move away, exceeds $104 million.

An example? Full time course graduates of MNTC will together generate an additional $7.8 million in state sales and income tax over their lifetimes.

Bottom line? MNTC is a driving force that keeps Oklahoma and Cleveland Counties, and the state’s economy strong. We infuse the workforce with qualified and certified professionals ranging from Sonographers and Surgical Technicians, to ASE Certified Auto Service and Collision Technicians, and Computer Programmers. We prepare high school students to excel in college as young engineering students who will be powerful earners in our state, and be some of those who design and engineer our state’s future.

Our graduates take on quality employment in our district and state, many of them continuing their education and earning higher education degrees, and then put that money to work through their investments and purchases.

It’s your sound investment, and our solid return. It’s how MNTC continues to Elevate our Economy.

ELEVATING OUR ECONOMY

If you do business with companies, chances are, you’ve heard “Return on Investment” used quite a bit. Look around - industries from all over the globe try to help you understand how your financial support has made a difference in their organization, and even in their communities.

Moore Norman Technology Center thinks similarly as an organization when it comes to return on investment, but the real difference comes into play when we discuss the impact MNTC makes on our district and the state’s economy, our districts’ communities, and on individuals’ careers and lives.

The plan was simple, and the results continue to flourish all across Oklahoma. It was a sound financial proposal, and some said, and impossible dream, of Francis Tuttle and Dewey Bartlett back in 1964.

The state would be divided into districts. Ad valorem taxes would fund individual career and technical institutions deemed, “area vocational-technical school.” It’s easy enough mathematics - what the individual communities within a district put into their technology center, they’d get back in progressive industry-based programs like Practical Nursing and Automotive Service Technology. Students would learn on unmatched state-of-the-art equipment allowing them to earn state and national certifications in their chosen career field.

MNTC continues to hold fast to those initial dreams of our CareerTech framers. The dream has become a reality over time and continued commitment, from our district of Norman, Moore, and south Oklahoma City. Unwavering financial support from members of our homeowner and business communities help MNTC maintain that standard of excellence recognized by our state, and beyond our state lines.
